Waed Bouhassoun & Ensemble
Musical Performance Arab and Persian Music / Voice 0In 2010, Syrian oud virtuoso and singer Waed Bouhassoun left her homeland to study ethnomusicology in France. Ten years later, she received her PhD from the University of Paris-Nanterre. While working as a scholar, she has also given concerts throughout Europe—including two acclaimed performances at the Pierre Boulez Saal. Bouhassoun’s latest concert project was born out of this special experience: her ensemble not only combines various string and percussion instruments and their rich tradition with singing, but also brings together a group of female musicians who, like herself, are active both as scholars and artists.
The audio livestream will be open to the general public. The audio recording of the concert will be released at a later date available to members of Pierre Boulez Saal Online only. Learn more about our new online membership!
