Daniel Barenboim: Beethoven Masterclasses
There is no way around Beethoven for any young pianist. In this series of masterclasses, Daniel Barenboim works on the composer’s 32 piano sonatas with students of the Barenboim-Said Akademie and other rising young artists—passing on more than 60 years of experience performing these works. The full cycle of sonatas will be released in instalments over the coming months.

The Complete Beethoven Piano Sonatas
Few musicians in the world are as intimately familiar with Beethoven’s piano sonatas as Daniel Barenboim, who has been exploring these works since the earliest days of his career—a musical novel in 32 chapters and an artistic cosmos in itself. The full cycle of sonatas will be released in instalments over the coming months.
Diving into the World of Bach
Sir András Schiff has spent many years probing the inexhaustible riches of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. In a series of lecture concerts, he presented some of the composer’s most important works at the Pierre Boulez Saal.

Clarinet Solos
Jörg Widmann performs works for solo clarinet from the 20th and 21st centuries—including his own Drei Schattentänze—showcasing the full expressive range of his instrument and introducing each piece.
Florian Weber & Ensemble Modern
Jazz pianist Florian Weber and the Ensemble Modern joined forces for the first time at the Pierre Boulez Saal in October 2020. The program, in which the ensemble members participated in Weber’s improvisations, was inspired by Arnold Schoenberg’s idea of “Coalition Chess.“
