Three fascinating musicians and composers are at the center of the fourth annual Arabic Music Days. Once again curated by Iraqi oud virtuoso Naseer Shamma, the program combines music with poetry, visual art, and film from the Arab world, continuing the tradition from previous years. On the second night of the festival, Syrian singer and composer Bachar Zarkan—who has written music on verses by Rūmī, Mahmoud Darwish, Badr Shakir al-Sayyab and many others—presents settings of Arabic poetry from different countries and eras.

Approximate running time: 1h 15m without intermission
