For their traditional open-air concert at Berlin’s Waldbühne, Daniel Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra welcome back an old and dear friend: cellist Yo-Yo Ma took part in the orchestra's founding workshop in Weimar in 1999 and has long been an honorary member of the Divan. Together with the young musicians from Israel, Palestine, and many other countries in the Middle East and North Africa, he will perform Antonín Dvořák’s famous Cello Concerto. A fitting match for the midsummer setting, Schumann’s joyful “Rhenish” Symphony completes the program.

YOUR VISIT
For safety reasons as well as to accelerate entrance checks, the Waldbühne will only allow the following items:
- Bag or backpack up to a maximum size of A4 (21.0 × 29.7 cm)
- One non-alcoholic drink per person up to 0.5 liters in a Tetra Pak or plastic bottle (PET); all other containers, including cans, glass or aluminum bottles, spray cans, etc., are prohibited.
- Cushion and blanket (preferably carried under the arm, without a bag)
- Liquid cosmetic products (sunscreen, mosquito repellent, etc.) up to 100 ml (no glass containers)
- One small power bank per person; the longest side may not exceed 10 cm
The following items may NOT be brought to the Waldbühne Berlin:
- Bags or backpacks larger than A4 (21.0 × 29.7 cm)
- Bulky and hazardous items of any kind, such as: suitcases, baskets, helmets, strollers, umbrellas with a shaft (exception: pocket umbrellas), selfie sticks, studs (e.g., on clothing or as jewelry), sports equipment (e.g., scooters, skateboards, etc.; exception: Nordic walking poles with “rubber buffers” attached are permitted via the wheelchair entrance)
- Food and snacks
- Electronic devices: laptops, tablets, video, photo, and audio recording devices, large power banks; exception: cell phones
- Large binoculars; exception: opera glasses
It is allowed to bring necessary medical devices and substances. In this case, please use the wheelchair entrance (to the right of the main entrance) and show corresponding proof to the security staff.
