Nils Mönkemeyer and William Youn return to the Pierre Boulez Saal to perform a number of their own arrangements of Bach’s chorale preludes and a cello suite as well as excerpts from The Art of the Fugue. Interspersed with these are works by Morton Feldman and miniatures by Greek composer Konstantia Gourzi, written for Mönkemeyer in response to Bach. The program is capped by Brahms’s Sonata in F minor––also heard in its original version for clarinet in Jörg Widmann and Mitsuko Uchida’s concert in October.
