
SCHEHERAZADE IN CONVERSATION
Panel Discussion

On the evening preceding the performance of Scheherazade, a Tale, a panel discussion will examine aspects of the story and character of Scheherazade from a variety of perspectives—including musical, literary, and feminist. Participants include conductor Simone Menezes; writer and translator Yasmine Seale, author of a new English translation of One Thousand and One Nights; writer Nahal Tajadod; Jutta Allmendinger, former president of WZB – Berlin Social Science Center and Humboldt University; and Regula Rapp, rector of the Barenboim-Said Akademie. The conversation will be hosted by Pierre Boulez Saal intendant Ole Bækhøj.
The panel will take place in English.
