Pianist Sylvie Courvoisier and guitarist Mary Halvorson have collaborated as a duo since 2017. At the Pierre Boulez Saal, they perform music from their most recent album Searching for the Disappeared Hour, released in October 2021. The evening’s second set is dedicated to Courvoisier’s trio with Ned Rothenberg and Julian Sartorius. Together with Halvorson, they present both new compositions, specially written for this first joint appearance as a quartet, as well as reworkings of pieces from the trio’s 2021 album Lockdown.
