Among the lesser-known composers of French mélodies, Reynaldo Hahn, born in 1874, in recent decades has secured a permanent place on international concert programs. For their Pierre Boulez Saal debut, Véronique Gens and Jeff Cohen dedicate a major part of their recital to his works. Heine settings by Hahn’s contemporary Guy Ropartz and songs by Charles Gounod round out the program.
