
Interview with Ghayath Al Madhoun

Palestinian poet Ghayath Al Mahdoun was born in Damascus and emigrated to Sweden in 2008. He now divides his time between Berlin and Stockholm. He has published four volumes of poetry to date, which have been translated into numerous languages and won several awards. The collection Adrenalin, published in English in 2017, was nominated for the 2018 Best Translated Book Award. He has collaborated with numerous other writers and artists in various genres; his poems have been part of works by American conceptual artist Jenny Holzer and German musician Blixa Bargeld, among others. In 2019–20, he was a fellow of the DAAD artist program in Berlin.
