Created and performed by participants of the seminar “Concert Curation” at the Barenboim-Said Akademie

The March is the final project of the seminar “Concert Curation” led by Yael Kareth, Professor of Transcultural Music Pedagogy and Mediation at the Barenboim-Said Akademie during the 2024 summer semester. The course was designed to challenge and rethink the traditional concert model, addressing the growing need for young performing musicians to become an influential part of the cultural scene by taking a proactive role in the process of initiating and curating classical music events.

The March takes audiences on a journey through different spaces within the Barenboim-Said Akademie’s unique architecture while experiencing musical performances by Akademie students. The program explores the march as a musical genre from the Baroque era through the 20th century in all its historical and social meanings, allowing the audience to engage in a reflective musical experience.

The event will begin in the foyer of the Barenboim-Said Akademie. Please note that the second performance, announced for 8pm, has been canceled. We apologize for the inconvenience.
